The room I stayed in at Funky Hotel was absolutely fabulous! It had a balcony where I could enjoy the beautiful views while sipping a cup of tea from the electric kettle provided. The air conditioning kept me cool in the Sri Lankan heat, and I loved having a private bathroom all to myself. Plus, the free in-room WiFi was a fantastic perk, allowing me to stay connected with my friends and family back home. With a desk and a flat-screen TV, everything I needed for a comfortable stay was right at my fingertips.

We had an amazing stay at Funky. the bedroom was spacious with a comfortable bed and good air conditioning. the highlight was definitely the balcony, which overlooked the main surf break. the location was central and right on the beautiful beach. the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making our experience even better.

Pros of our stay at this mind-blowing hotel near the sea: fun bar, decent breakfast, lovely staff, very good food, amazing top floor room with wrap around windows, spacious and incredibly clean, super comfortable bed, cold A/C, huge balcony, fridge, kettle, blow dryer, TV, accommodating staff, incredible location near coffee shop, mini mart, and ATM, 5-minute walk to liquor store, allowed us to stay late on check-out day, invited us to beach barbecue, jaw-dropping panoramic beach view, nice breakfast, would definitely come back!

Snorkeling was a blast, exploring the vibrant underwater world. And let's not forget the epic fishing trips where we caught some massive fish! We had a blast at Funky Hotel, but if there's one thing we'd ask for, it's a banging party scene at the hotel. While we loved exploring Hikkaduwa's nightclubs, it would've been sick to have a happening party right at the hotel.

In addition, you'll find a variety of shops, bars, and restaurants nearby, making it convenient to explore the area. this hotel is perfect for young souls looking for a fun and rejuvenating getaway.

While there were minor areas that could be improved, such as attention to details like placing salt and pepper on the table during meals or having koozies for the beer, these aspects didn't significantly impact our overall experience. The lack of throw rugs in the room made the concrete floor feel a bit odd, but we adapted by using our towels as makeshift rugs.
